James Maddison threw a major spanner into Manchester United’s transfer plans by declaring to fans “of course” he will stay at Leicester City.

The transfer window is still a few months away and there is still alot of football to be played before players can be signed, but that has not stopped speculation in the media linking the Red Devils with a number of possible signings.

And one man that has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford, is that of Maddison, who has fast become one of the most creative players in the Premier League and is tipped to make a massive £80 million move to one of the Premier League’s big clubs.

However, the £80 million rated midfielder has now opened up and revealed that he is very happy at Leicester and has indicated that he has no intention of leaving in the summer transfer window

Speaking to Leicester fan Roy on a call with BT Sport’s Team Talk, Maddison was asked if he is staying at the club, He declared: “Of course I am.

“It was one of the best decisions I’ve made, coming here. I love it.”

Roy then replied: “You stay with us mate, you’ll be there. Don’t be going up that bloody M6.”

Maddison is ready for United, but now they have Bruno Fernandes, is he needed at Old Trafford? So maybe missing out on him this coming transfer window will not be a big loss, especially as the Portuguese star has made such an impact.

But it will be interesting to see just how this all plays out in the next transfer window as the lure of money and Old Trafford has been one that many players that been unable to turn down over the course of the years, and one that Maddison may feel that he is unable to miss out on.
