Chelsea are reportedly interested in securing the services of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice when the summer transfer window will be re-opened, however, face stiff competition from Manchester United for his signature.

Rice started his career at Chelsea. However, he has joined the London rivals after he was let go by the Blues as a teenager.

The talented Englishman started his career as a centre-back, however, now he’s established himself as a deep-lying midfielder and being one of the best on his position in the Premier League.

Rice is a close friend of Mason Mount following his time with the Blues and Sky Sports reports that Lampard wants to lure him back at Stamford Bridge as he considers him as a long-term replacement for Jorginho who has been tipped to sign for Juventus this summer.

However, Chelsea face stiff competition from Manchester United, the 20-times English champions have been linked with the signing of 21-year-old midfielder since the last summer and even were prepared to sell big for his signature only the Hammers turned down the bid.

Rice recently signed a new long-term contract win the London outfits, putting the Hammers in a strong negotiating position.

The price they demand is likely to be around £75m and both Man Utd and Chelsea have to break the bank in order to lure him away from the London Stadium.

Lampard will be given significant funds this summer after navigating his first campaign at the club without spending any money, while Man Utd also expected to be busy this summer.
