Manchester United have been looking at Jack Grealish to improve their attack but now the name of Donny van de Beek is in the lime light again. If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man Utd are close to luring the Dutch international (Oriol Domenech).

According to Mirror Sport, Man Utd are leading the race and Solskjaer is ready to secure the signing of the Ajax star, who has told that he will not play for the Eredivisie giants again.

The renowned British news source have mentioned that the Red Devils expect to seal the capture for a fee worth £40million and the deal could only be hampered if Real or Barca move in to sign him.

However, the Catalan giants are in a disaster and Madrid have already backed off from the move to sign Van de Beek. ESPN have also reported that the Old Trafford outfit are in pole position to get his signing done and Barca are not even an option.

So, if reports are to be believed then Man United fans should get excited because this transfer could be completed.

In Spain, Sport have claimed that Dutch club do not want to sell their prized asset for a fee lower than 55 million euros (£49million).

Van de Beek was a key member of the Ajax side that won the domestic double and reached the semi finals of the Champions League in the 2018-19 campaign under the management of Erik ten Hag.

The Netherlands attacking midfielder, who can also play effectively in the central midfield, directly contributed in 30 goals. He scored away from home in the CL against Juventus and Tottenham.

In the 2019-20 season marred by COVID-19, the 9-capped international scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in 37 appearances for Ajax. Would he play the next season at Old Trafford? Only time will tell. For the latest updates, watch this space.
