Manchester United could allegedly sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante if Frank Lampard makes the player available for the right price.

Chelsea have already spent heavily this transfer window, bringing in Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, but want to add more.

Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz is expected to complete his transfer in coming days. But that deal could cost around £80 million and Frank Lampard needs to raise funds through player sales.

And in a surprise development on Thursday, the odds tumbled on N’Golo leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.

United are now the favourites with the bookmakers to bring in the France star. And the Daily Mirror claims a deal could be sealed if Chelsea do not demand a substantial fee.

He is being touted as an instant upgrade on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s current variants in the defensive midfield role.

One of Scott McTominay, Fred or Nemanja Matic usually partners Paul Pogba in a holding role.

If N’Golo did complete a surprise switch to Old Trafford he’d rekindle his partnership with his Pogba.

The pair won the 2018 FIFA World Cup together while pulling the strings from the centre of the French midfield.

Meantime, Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho has said that he doesn’t want to become distracted by speculation about his future.

Speaking to Soccerbible, the Englishman said: “I try not to look at the media because I think once you start looking at all that it would be easy to get carried away with it.

“It can affect players. For me it’s about not looking at those things and just focusing on trying to do the best I can on the pitch. Especially in training.

“For me it’s about improving every single day. It’s important for me to keep a smile on my face and keep happy. I don’t really look at all the noise and all that stuff. I’d rather keep my head down, keep focus and improve every day.”
