Manchester United have finally forced a deal over the line this summer as a former Barcelona defender signs on the dotted line.
Defender Marc Jurado has made the trip from Spain to Manchester to put pen to paper in a deal which has cost Manchester United £1.3m in training fees.
The 16-year-old who is tipped to become a future star took to Instagram today to share his thoughts as he headed towards the Theatre of Dreams, aptly captioning his photograph, ‘A new dream is coming.’
Camp Nou were keen to keep the teenager at the club and nurture him in their academy however contract negotiations hit a standstill as Jurado decided against signing a contract with the La Liga giants.
The Red Devils wasted no time in getting a deal over the line after scouting the player for some time.
Jurado had this to say about his Barcelona exit:
‘It’s never easy to leave a team that has given you everything. Barcelona has been my second home, my second family, where I have developed as a player and as a person. ‘Today it’s time to say goodbye, but not before expressing my gratitude to each of the people who have helped me since I started in the prebenjamín in the year 2011.’‘I have been lucky to share my passion with a fantastic generation, with which I will always be linked.’`We started as boys who just wanted to run after a ball and I said goodbye, nine years later, calling them friends. Only we know the immense luck we have had with all the coaches who have developed us and helped us to keep fulfilling our dreams.’‘Every stage has a beginning and an end. Mine, having reflected a lot with my family, has come. I leave behind unforgettable memories which will always stay with me.’
