Manchester United can sign Ousmane Dembele for free next season

According to transfer news from SportWitness, Manchester United can sign Ousmane Dembele for free next season. The Barcelona star’s agent is willing to delay negotiations with the club. This is with the end view to push for a free transfer to Manchester United next season.

The 24-year-old joined Barcelona in 2017 for big money but has not shown a consistent run of performances. Both injuries and inconsistency have seen him struggle to produce his best on a regular basis. With his contract expiring in 2022, Barcelona are running out of time to renew his deal.

Now, his injury has put a dampener on Barcelona’s efforts to cash in on him during the summer transfer window. While contract negotiations are still running, if a deal cannot be agreed, it will put in a position of losing the player by January itself.

Manchester United along with Juventus have kept tabs on the situation and could be helped by his agent. He is delaying contract talks with Barcelona so that Dembele is free to join either Manchester United or Juventus for free next season. However, Dembele could face action if that happens by being reduced to a bench role.

Possessing pace, skill and directness, Dembele can add a new dimension to the United frontline. Bringing him in would enhance an attack that has at times lacked inspiration. However, it remains to be seen if United really stay interested in him next year after the signing of Jadon Sancho.
