Manchester United spent a lot of cash to strengthen their defense last summer but they are still looking to improve things at the back and are linked with another highly rated fullback.

According to an exclusive report published by The Sun, Man United are leading the race to secure the signing of Ben Chilwell, who is valued at £60million by Leicester City.

The famous British outlet have mentioned that the likes of Man City and Chelsea are after the left back as well, howeverm, United have moved in to pole position to agree his signing in the summer transfer window.

Chilwell made his debut for the senior international side two years back and since then, he has been the first choice left back for Southgate. So far, he has made 11 appearances for the Three Lions.

The 23-year-old has been highly impressive for the Foxes this season. After champions Liverpool, Leicester have conceded the fewest goals in the PL this term and Chilwell has regularly started under the management of Brendan Rodgers.

The young defender has been productive in the attacking third as well. In 27 PL appearances thus far, he has scored 3 goals and provided as many assists for the 2015-16 champions.

After 34 league games, United have conceded just one goal more than the Foxes this term (33). Last season, at this stage, the Red Devils had already let in 48 goals.

Luke Shaw has performed well in the left back position and in his absence, young Brandon Williams has also stepped up. The dilemma with Shaw is that he has remained injury prone since moving to Old Trafford from the Saints. Even this term, he has missed 10 PL fixtures due to fitness concerns.

In such a scenario, do you think that Solskjaer should sign a new first choice left back. Should Man Utd spend £60million to secure signing of Ben Chilwell?
