Manchester United are reportedly planning to make a move for Leicester City forward James Maddison this summer.

The 20-times English champions were thought to have identified the 23-year-old playmaker as a top transfer target ahead of the next season.

Bruno Fernandes arrived at Old Trafford from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon back in January, though, while Aston Villa’s playmaker Jack Grealish and Birmingham City’s starlet Jude Bellingham continue to be rumoured with a switch to the club.

According to the reports from Britain, Man Utd are expecting Maddison to secure the services of a new deal with Leicester, effectively ending their interest in the talented England international playmaker.

The former Norwich City starlet still has three years left on his current contract at the King Power Stadium, however, could be in line for a pay rise, having become a key figure for the team.

Maddison has found back of the net nine times in 35 games for Brendan Rodgers’s side this season and would be a perfect addition to the Red Devils, however, after Bruno Fernandes transfer in January it seems unlikely signing another creative midfielder in the summer.
