Manchester United need to improve their wide attacking positions in the summer transfer window and they are linked with a top star in the form of Douglas Costa.

According to Calcio Mercato, Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is prepared to let the Brazilian international leave and Man Utd are pressing and are one of four clubs ready to bid to sign him.

The renowned Italian source have mentioned that the Red Devils face competition from the likes of PSG, Man City and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, who want to bring him back to Germany.

Costa has won every major domestic prize with The Old Lady but in the last two campaigns, the South American attacker has mostly been on the treatment table.

Last term, the 29-year-old only started 7 times in the Serie A and scored only one goal. In February 2019, he suffered a major injury and then took no further part in the campaign.

As far as this season is concerned, once again, the former Shakhtar winger has mostly been sidelined due to injury and has only managed to start 6 games in the league under Sarri.

United loaned out Sanchez last summer and signed Daniel James. Unfortunately, the Welsh winger has not been able to light up Old Trafford and therefore, Solskjaer should sign a proven quality winger in the summer.

Douglas Costa, who earns £103,000-a-week (Calcio Mercato), does not fit the bill because he has been highly injury prone and will turn 30 this year. Man Utd should lure someone, who would serve the club in the long run. The fans would absolutely love the arrival of Jadon Sancho.
