Manchester United have ben heavily linked with Kalidou Koulibaly lately and the latest reports suggest that the Red Devils are favorites.
Few days back, La Gazzetta Dello Sport had Liverpool in the driving seat to sign the Napoli star but more recently, United are in front.
The Italian media outlet have claimed that the likes of Liverpool, Man United and PSG are looking to sign the Senegalese international. The Old Trafford outfit are shown as favorites and have 50% chance of luring the African man.
On the other hand, the European Champions and the French champions have got 25% each. It is further mentioned that the 20-time English champions made a bid of 100 million euros last summer but it was rejected. GdS claim that Man Utd are ready to return to finally sign him and this time around, a fee of 80 million euros (£71million) could get the signing done.
Last week, we covered a story (via Le10Sport) claiming that United have moved into a high gear to sign Koulibaly.
So, if reports in renowned media sources are anything to go by then we are seriously interested in signing the African star.
However, as pointed out in my previous piece (link provided above), we really do not need to improve our back-line, especially the central defense, in the summer transfer window.
The likes of Maguire, Lindelof and Bailly have done well this term and Solskjaer has also got Tuanzebe and Jones. Therefore, the Norwegian manager has enough quality and depth as far as the center back positions are concerned.
Instead, he should splash the cash to strengthen the offense and the midfield in the next transfer window.
