Another day, another story linking Jadon Sancho with a move to Manchester United.
This time around, Transfer expert Ian McGarry has claimed that Man United have agreed a lucrative five year contract that will make the player earn an initial wage of £140,000-a-week, which would reach to £200,000-a-week over the course of the deal.
McGarry told Transfer Window Podcast:
“Sancho has agreed in principle in the last few weeks a five year contract with Manchester United which will pay him initially around £140,000-per-week. But increasing to around £200,000-per-week over the course of that deal.”
“The player’s agent Emeka Obasi has recently been busy doing other deals notably [Bukayo] Saka’s new deal at Arsenal but he is still hopeful that United will be able to agree a fee with Borussia Dortmund.”
This means that the five year deal agreed with Sancho is worth over £36million but in my view, the initial wage is way too low for a player of his caliber and that is why the rumor is unbelievable.
In fact, after top performances in the 2018-19 campaign, the England international was handed a bumper deal worth £190,000-a-week (The Mail).
In the recently concluded Bundesliga season, the Three Lions star scored 17 goals and provided 17 assists as well. So, in all fairness, he would be looking for a pay rise and does not deserve a pay cut to join Manchester United.
As far as the transfer fee is concerned, few days back, we covered a report (via Sky Sports News) claiming that Dortmund want over £100million for their prized asset but United are only willing to offer £50million.
We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming days and will keep you updated.
