Former Red Devils midfielder Paul Ince has urged the club to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez. Paul Ince reckons that Man United can get closer to Man City and Liverpool by spending big this summer and has identified Spain international as the perfect signing to partner Bruno Fernandes in midfield.
Man United playmaker Paul Pogba has been continually linked with a move away from Theatre of Dreams, and with his future uncertain at the moment, Ince feels that replacing the World Cup winner should be Red Devils priority.
Niguez has a release clause of £130m, and La Liga giants have no intention of letting their prized asset leave the team for anything less than that amount. Speaking about a possible move for Saul, Paul Ince said:
“What United fans want is exciting players and heroes in their club. There hasn’t been enough of those in recent years at Man United, You look at Manchester City. They’ve got Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva at least three legends. It’s the same now with Liverpool. Man United don’t have that at the moment.”
“I’ve watched Saul for the last two or three years, and I like him,” he added. Red Devils were linked with a move for the 25-year-old midfielder before the Norwegian manager took over as Man United coach and the player could be a great signing for the club.
However, Spanish giants will be reluctant to part with their midfielder as he is a vital part of Diego Simeone’s side, we can’t see why Atletico Madrid would allow the Spanish footballer to leave for anything less than his release clause.
