Manchester United could reportedly try to bring Lazio forward Ciro Immobile to Old Trafford during this summer’s transfer market.
The 30-year-old star has been in brilliant form for his Italian side during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 30 times in 33 games, including 27 goals in just 26 Serie A matches.
Everton have recently been mentioned with the Italy international, who has a contract with I Biancocelesti until the end of the 2022-23 season.
However, according to Calciomercato, the Red Devils are also currently exploring the possibility of landing the experienced striker this summer.
The report states that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are still searching for a successor for Romelu Lukaku despite managing to extend Odion Ighalo’s loan deal until the winter of 2021.
Immobile’s form this campaign sees him sit second behind Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski in the race for the European Golden Boot, while he has managed 116 goals in 167 matches for Lazio since arriving from Sevilla back in 2016.
Marcus Rashford has recovered from a back problem during the lockdown period and will be fit for United’s PL clash against Tottenham Hotspur on June 19, leaving Ole with plenty of attacking options as the 20-time English champions prepare to resume their campaign.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are reportedly willing to sell Andreas Pereira during this summer’s transfer market in order to ‘make room’ for Ajax star Donny van de Beek.
The Red Devils continue to be strongly mentioned with Van de Beek, and Ajax youth coach Ronald de Boer recently claimed that the English giants could pip Real Madrid to the star’s signature.
According to The Mirror, United chief Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been informed that he’ll have to sell one of his current midfielders to ‘make room’ for Donny.
