The Red Devils have placed Man City forward Raheem Sterling ‘high up’ their priority list for the summer transfer window, according to reports. The 25-year-old forward has enjoyed yet another successful campaign under Pep Guardiola, scoring 11 goals in 24 games and has attracted interest from Real Madrid.

Cityzens will attempt to overturn UEFA’s decision to ban them from the UCL later this month, but the possibility of no European football has reportedly unsettled some crucial footballers. And if the appeal fails, the Red Devils will attempt to sign Raheem this summer, despite his allegiance to their city rivals.

However, Sterling is more likely to move to Real Madrid over Man United if he leaves City. Also, high on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer wishlists are Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish. Jadon scored his first career hat-trick in Borussia Dortmund’s 6-1 win over Paderborn on the weekend but will cost more than £100m to sign.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also wants a defender to pair with Harry Maguire, and the club are looking at Swansea City’s Joe Rodon as a backup option for Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano. The PL aims to kick off Project Restart on 17 June with Red Devils in action that weekend against Tottenham in their first game back.

Meanwhile, Man United have moved to ensure the future of centre-forward Odion Ighalo, whose loan spell from Shanghai Shenhua has been extended until January 2021. The Nigerian striker was ready to come back to the Chinese Super League club at the end of last week, but will now stay at Theatre of Dreams.
