Red Devils could reportedly try to prise Cesar Gelabert away from Real Madrid with Gunners previously being linked with a swoop of their own. U19 Spain international has come through the youth ranks at Bernabeu after joining the Los Blancos in 2015, featuring for the U17s, U18s, U19s and now the Castilla side.

Gelabert has played 13 matches so far this campaign, and while his more natural role is through the middle in a superior position, he has shown the versatility to play on either wing too. Red Devils are also keen on the promising teenager, with Barcelona and Gunners also credited with an interest.

Los Blancos position will likely be weakened by the fact that Cesar’s current deal expires in 2021, and so if they value the playmaker but are unable to reach a deal on new terms, they could be forced to consider an exit this summer to receive a decent fee for Cesar rather than lose him for nothing in year.

The 19-year-old attacker would seemingly fit the mould perfectly in terms of what the Norwegian coach is trying to build at Theatre of Dreams, signing promising teenagers to his squad to form a long-term plan for success.

That was reflected in the signings of Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James last summer, while Maguire and Bruno still have their best years ahead of them. Spaniard is far from the finished article as things stand, but with the report above suggesting he’s highly-rated by Zizou and given the calibre of the clubs said to be interested in him.
