The Red Devils have reportedly submitted a deal offer to attacker Angel Gomes as they hope to avoid losing him for nothing this summer and potentially to rivals Chelsea.

U20 England international has come through the youth ranks at the Theatre of Dreams, but he has struggled to make a breakthrough at senior level this campaign despite the Norwegian manager seemingly giving his young stars more of the opportunity.

That’s reflected in the likes of Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams getting game time, while through the additions of the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James last summer, it appears as though Man United are planning for the long term.

However, Angel has played only six games for the first team so far this campaign, totalling 19 minutes of game time in the Premier League. Coupled with his current deal expiring this summer, it has unsurprisingly led to question marks being raised over his future at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are keen to keep Gomes at the club, as it’s suggested that they’ve offered him a £30,000-a-week deal renewal plus bonuses, with the threat of losing him to a rival in the London giants being touted as they’re mentioned explicitly in the report as being interested in the promising teenager.

It’s added that the 19-year-old wants to remain at Man United, but given his lack of game time to this point and amid rumours linking Jude Bellingham with a move to Theatre of Dreams which could push him further down the pecking order, there are obvious concerns that he may not get the chances to develop and flourish for the Red Devils.
