Paul Pogba could be on his way of Manchester United

According to the Daily Star (h/t Express), Manchester United have set a price of £70million for Paul Pogba in the upcoming transfer window.

The French World Cup winner has had a rough season at Old Trafford. Injuries and a loss of form have severely limited his appearances, the last of which came in December.

Ed Woodward is open to losing the player he signed for a club-record fee just four years ago. He is keen to cut his losses and believes that the coronavirus pandemic will stop the club from recouping their investment.

The Frenchman initially enjoyed an excellent season back in England. Playing under Jose Mourinho he scored nine goals and six assists as he led the side to a cup double.

United only finish sixth in the Premier League, but an inspired victory in the UEFA Europa League ensured Champions League qualification.

He has since failed to perform consistently with his off-field antics gaining more attention. He also publically expressed his willingness to leave the club after missing out on a top-four finish last season.

United stuck to their guns back then but are more open to a move now. A loss will represent a disturbing trend of signing players for a big fee before moving them on for a loss.

The same happened with Angel di Maria and Romelu Lukaku, with United losing a combined £20million on both the players. The fact that they have gone on to succeed at PSG and Inter Milan will also not have helped matters.
