Manchester United and Newcastle United could reportedly battle for the services of Barcelona defensive midfielder Arturo Vidal when the summer transfer window will be re-opened.

The 32-year-old has again been a key figure for the La Liga giants during the 2019-20 season, founding back of the net six times and provided three assists in 31 games in all competitions.

Vidal’s current contract at Camp Nou will end next summer, though, and Serie A giants Inter Milan are believed to be hopeful of securing the services of the Chile international midfielder ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

According to Mundo Deportivo, there is also Premier League interest in the former Juventus star, with both Man Utd and Newcastle weighing up offers.

The report suggests that Arturo Vidal would consider a move to the Magpies if they were to finalise a takeover and appoint former Serie A giants, Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri as their new boss.

Barca have allegedly slapped a €20m (£17m) price tag on the South American midfielders head.

Barcelona two other players Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembele both have been also rumoured with a switch to Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen on to strengthen his squad next campaign to compete for all possible trophies.
