The Red Devils have been urged to raid Leicester City for a second successive summer, to sign Caglar Soyuncu. The 24-year-old centre-back has enjoyed a fine season at the heart of the Foxes defence and is ready to make the Premier League Team of the Season.

Caglar had considered leaving the King Power Stadium a year ago when he could not get in the club ahead of Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans. But Man United’s world-record £80m deal for Maguire opened the door for Soyuncu to become a success story under Brendan Rodgers.

Souness believes that Turkey international could be the perfect player to partner Harry at Man United, having played alongside him on a few occasions last campaign. “Shaw has qualities at left-back, but could still get himself leaner and meaner, while we’ll have to wait and see if Lindelof will be Maguire’s long-term partner at defence,” he said.

Harry was recently handed the Red Devils captaincy following Ashley Young’s January switch to Inter Milan. He has been among Man United’s best footballers this campaign, but his rustiness was evident as the side made their long-awaited return to Premier League action on Friday at Tottenham.

Harry was left behind by Tottenham forward Steven Bergwijn, who fired past a questionable David de Gea for the opener. The Turkish centre-back joined Leicester City to replace Harry Maguire, and in all fairness, he has been better than Red Devils skipper.

Caglar immediately strengthened Leicester City, who had the 3rd best defensive record before the suspension of the season due to covid outbreak.
