According to The Sun, Manchester United are considering a summer swoop for Valencia midfield star Uros Racic, who has been dubbed the new ‘Nemanja Matic’.
The 22-year-old came through the youth ranks at OFK Beograd in Serbia and had a stint at Red Star Belgrade, before joining Valencia in 2018. However, having failed to settle down at his new club, the Serbian joined Tenerife on loan just six months later.
Last summer saw Racic spend the season away on loan at Portuguese outfit Famalicao, where he impressed with three goals and two assists in 39 appearances. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Back at Valencia, he made a cameo in their La Liga opener against Huesca this past weekend. However, his future may once again lie away from Los Che, with Manchester United now weighing up a move for the Serb. (h/t The Sun)
Racic is a box-to-box midfielder, who idolises United superstar Paul Pogba, as per the report. However, he can easily slot in as the anchorman in the midfield and is being seen as a long-term replacement for compatriot Matic at Old Trafford. (h/t The Sun)
Manchester United have been monitoring him for a while now and are preparing a £28m move, even though he has a release clause of £92m. Valencia, given their financial troubles, would find the offer acceptable. (h/t The Sun)
