Manchester United have signed a top midfielder in the form of Donny van de Beek but reports suggest that they would be interested in luring another midfield player if he becomes available.

The player in discussion is none other than French international and Chelsea star N’Golo Kante.

According to The Mail, Solskajer needs a play breaker, someone as good as Caemiro at Real Madrid, and Man United would jump at the chance of signing Kante if the Blues give them encouragement to move.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the former Leicester City star could be available.

The Stamford Bridge outlet have splashed a lot of cash to strengthen the team this summer. Now, reports suggest that they are looking to raise funds from player sales (The Express) and have slappled a mammoth price tag of £80million on the Frenchman.

He was a key member of the Foxes’ squad that won the Premier League in 2016 under Claurdio Ranieri. A year later, he deservedly won the PFA Player of the Year award after consistent top quality performances in Chelsea’s title winning season.

The 29-year-old played in every game for the Les Bleus in their World Cup winning campaign back in 2018.

The dilemma at Old Trafford is that United do have several midfield options but they lack a an engine, someone, who’ll consistently press and break opponent’s play in the center of the park. Matic is past his best and the Serbian is too slow. In such a scenario, Kante, who is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, would be a world class addition.

The 39-capped international’s current contract with Chelsea will expire in 2023 and he earns around £290,000-a-week (The Mail). In your view, should Man United splash the cash to sign N’Golo Kante this summer?
