Manchester United have been in search of a striker for quite some time and once again the name of Arkadiusz Milik is in the lime light.

Back in the winter transfer window, the Red Devils were prepared to secure the Polish international but the forward ended up staying with Napoli (The Sun).

Now, reports suggest that Man Utd are in contact to finally sign the 26-year-old striker but they face heavy competition.

Renowned Italian journalist Ciro Venerato told Radio Kiss Kiss (via Mundo Napoli) that Napoli are in informal discussions, with the Old Trafford outfit, Fulham, City, Spurs and Leipzig.

Milik’s current contract with the Naples based side will expire next year and as per reports (Sky Italia), he is valued at 35 million euros (£32million).

The former Ajax man played as a second choice striker in Italy behind Dries Mertens and did well when called upon. Last season, in 2 Champions League starts, he netted 3 goals. On the other hand, in 19 Serie A starts, he found the net 11 times.

As far as his international career is concerned, so far, in 51 caps for Poland, he has scored 14 goals and provided as many assists (Transfermarkt).

At Old Trafford, Solsksjaer has not replaced Romelu Lukaku as yet. The Belgian forward banged in goals for fun for Inter Milan last term and we are stuck with Martial, who is not even an out and out striker.

The Frenchman has thus far played 180 minutes of Premier League football this term and is yet to score a goal or provide an assist for the team.
