PL club revive interest in Man Utd ace who almost joined them last year

Leeds United could land Manchester United winger Daniel James – a year and a half after the club failed to land him, reports say.

The Whites are still looking for PL additions, despite their exciting start to the term, and they are mulling over the possibility of moving for the star.

With the 22-year-old dropping down the pecking order at Old Trafford, the Whites could revive their interest in the fleet-footed Welsh talent.

He netted three PL goals last season, appearing 34 times, but he has been usurped by Mason Greenwood already, while head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is clearly looking to sign another wide attacker.

The idea of signing Gareth Bale was looked into, while Borussia Dortmund talent Jadon Sancho has been wanted all summer long, with a £108 million deal still a possibility.

And if another forward does come in to compete with him then, according to the Daily Star, the Whites will then attempt to swoop for Daniel.

Any deal would most likely be a loan with an option to buy next year.

If it did happen it’d be an extraordinary return to Elland Road for the ace who all-but signed for Leeds United from Swansea City back in January 2019.

A £10 million transfer fell through at the final moments on transfer deadline day and as the club missed out on promotion even Bielsa admitted Daniel might have made a difference.

Leeds did, though, earn promotion as EFL Championship title winners last campaign and are now making a big impact in the top tier.
