Rumours around midfielder Eduardo Camavinga have gone relatively quiet in the latest months.

Last year saw endless reports of interest coming from teams including Manchester United and Real Madrid, with the latter allegedly seeing him as a better long-term option than his compatriot Paul Pogba, and the Red Devils considering the player in case Pogba leaves.

This season the talent has continued to be a fixture in Rennes’ team but he is not getting as many minutes per match as during the previous season. Perhaps more of an explosion was expected by some for this term, yet it’s easy to forget Eduardo only turned 18 in November.

AS this week claimed Camavinga continues to prioritise the Galacticos over other options, however, considering Los Blancos’ difficult finances it’s highly questionable whether a transfer could happen this summer.

Fichajes reports the current situation means the 20-time English champions seem to have the lead in spite of the player being ready to wait.

Camavinga has a deal lasting until 2022 and should he not extend then it’s conceivable Les Rouge et Noir would push a sale in the next market, which wouldn’t be ideal for Los Blancos.

Regardless of what is being reported, there is surely a question mark over how interested the Red Devils are right now, and whether they truly see Eduardo as someone who can replace Pogba.

Meantime, Manchester United have shelved plans to move for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho after handing academy graduate Mason Greenwood a new contract, according to the Daily Express.
