Manchester United and Newcastle United tracked midfielder Boubakary Soumare will stick with Lille at least until the end of the campaign.
The 21-year-old Frenchman has been on the radar of Premier League sides since last year and has been regularly mentioned with a move to England.
The Magpies had a deal in place with Les Dogues for Soumare in January last year but the midfielder refused to move to Tyneside.
They have continued to monitor the star despite Steve Bruce’s reservations and Souamre has also been linked with a move to the Red Devils this month.
But according to French newspaper L’Equipe, Soumare isn’t going anywhere and will stay at the club beyond the end of the winter transfer market.
The player has told Lille that he wants to remain at Stade Pierre Mauroy until the end of the term before assessing a possible move in the summer.
He will enter the final year of his deal with Lille at the end of the campaign and will be expecting more proposals to land on his table then.
The Ligue 1 side have accepted one of their key players’ wish and are keen to utilise his skills until the end of the season.
Elsewhere, Manchester United have allegedly been offered the chance to bring in Roma forward Edin Dzeko in the final stages of the January transfer market.
The 34-year-old has scored 114 goals in 242 games for his Italian club, including eight strikes in 20 games in all competitions during the 2020-21 campaign.
Edin might have played his last game for the Giallorossi, though, having fallen out with the club’s manager Paulo Fonseca.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Red Devils have been offered the opportunity to land the striker as a replacement for Odion Ighalo, who has seen his loan stint at the club come to an end.
