Manchester United are reportedly planning to make a move for Paris Saint-Germain defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye.
The 20-times English champions are on the brink of qualifying for the Champions League following Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with the Hammers, requiring only a point against Leicester City on the final day.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be heavily backed in the transfer window should he achieve his aim of guiding the Red Devils back into UEFA’s showpiece competition, with Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho rumoured to be his top transfer targets ahead of the 2020/21 season.
French outlet Le 10 Sport claims that Solskjaer is seeking to sign a world-class defensive midfielder as a priority, however, with ex-Everton man Gueye emerging as a transfer target.
Gueye has played 31 games in his first campaign at Ligue 1 giants after joining them in a £30m deal from Everton.
Manchester United will have the most important game of the season against Leicester City next weekend as the match will decide whether the Red Devils will be part of the Champions League football or not.
Finishing on the fourth place would help the Red Devils to sign world-class players this summer.
