Manchester United are reportedly planning to offload Daniel James to raise funds for a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s winger Jadon Sancho next summer.

The Red Devils pursuit of the England international during the current transfer window was unsuccessful, despite German giants insistence that Sancho will not be going anywhere Ole Gunnar Solskajaer’s side still hope to sign him next season.

The 20-times English champions have already seen a bid of £91.3m turned down by the Bundesliga giants, although United will supposedly look to raise enough money to meet German giants £108m price tag.

According to ESPN, Man Utd is open to parting ways with James, who has struggled to break into the team ahead of the likes of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greendwood lately.

The report suggests that Leeds United, whose pursuit of James before the 23-year-old joined the Red Devils was well-documented, are still after the £25m-rated Welshman, although the powers-that-be at Old Trafford are reluctant to sanction a sale.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer search for a right-sided forward has also seen them rumoured with Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele, while Sevilla forward Lucas Ocampos has recently emerged as a potential alternative to Sancho.

James has chalked up four goals from 48 appearances since arriving at United from Swansea City, and the winger’s current deal at Old Trafford will expire in 2024.
