Manchester United have pinpointed Saul Niguez as their perfect replacement for Paul Pogba, according to a recent report.

The Frenchman’s future has come into question in the latest weeks, with plenty of speculation sparked by his entourage, Mino Raiola.

Raiola stated that his client was not happy in Manchester and that all sides would have to explore a transfer next year.

Paul has since played down his representative’s comments, but with his deal expiring in 2022, a transfer away before then still seems likely.

There are concerns about who would be willing to pay the Red Devils the kind of fee they would want for the star, who was once the most expensive player in the world.

But should they find a potential buyer, then they evidently already have a plan in place to fill the void the French World Cup winner would leave.

According to Todo Fichajes, United have rekindled their interest in Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez. They have even worked out how much they’d like to pay for him.

The report claims that United will not go higher than €70 million for the 26-year-old. However, that may not be enough as Los Rojiblancos want a sum closer to his €150 million exit clause.

However, while Niguez once seemed destined to stay at the Spanish club, a move could be more of a possibility now.

Old Trafford could be a particularly interesting destination for Saul. He admitted earlier this year that links with the English club were flattering.
