Manchester United have reportedly made an enquiry to sign Gent attacker Jonathan David this summer.

That is per a report from Belgian publication HLN, who claim the Red Devils are one of six clubs interested in landing the Canadian starlet.

Also in the market for the 20-year-old striker are Arsenal but there is further competition from across Europe. That comes in the form of Ajax, Porto, Inter Milan and Everton.

The Canadian, who has 11 goals in 12 matches for his country, has burst onto the scene with the devastating effect this season – scoring 23 times in all competitions.

It’s hardly surprising that he has attracted interest from the PL, where United are said to have already opened initial exploratory talks with David’s side.

It is reported that €25 million (£22.4m) will be enough to convince Jupiler Pro League outfit to sell.

The North American prodigy is easily one of the most exciting young footballers in Europe at this moment.

The playmaker, who can also play further forward as a centre-forward, has been in rampant form for Gent, scoring 18 division strikes but also supplying ten goals for his teammates.

He has also shown he can do it on the continental stage too, scoring on three occasions in the UEFA Europa League.

The Red Devils have recently taken the approach to land younger players, making moves for Harry Maguire and Daniel James last summer so the addition of the 20-year-old Canadain star would continue that theme.
