Liverpool have reportedly pulled out of a deal for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, which has boosted Manchester United.

Liverpool may be dominating the Premier League and heading towards a Premier League title, and they may be Champions of Europe and heading towards another title, but that does not mean that Jurgen Klopp is seeking to improve the squad and take his side to that next level.

Liverpool fc boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be a long-term admirer of the 23-year-old German striker, who has been absolutely on fire this season with 24 goals and 10 assists for the Bundesliga club, and it appears his devastating goalscoring form has convinced the Premier League leaders to bring him to Anfield this summer

Werner has a release clause of £68million and the 24-year-old has repeatedly talked up a switch to Liverpool, with many fans hoping that a deal can be reached for the talented German ace.

However, Manchester United are also in the chase to try and sign the world class hitman as they seek to add another striker to the front-line in order to help out Marcus Rashford next season.

And According to The Mirror, Anfield chiefs are unwilling to spend more than £30m to sign the striker, who has had an impressive campaign this season.

Liverpool believe they already have a world class attack and feel that they do not need to splash the cash during the summer transfer window to add a striker to the side, that would demand more game time than he would probably get.

Whomever Werner decides to sign for in the summer window will be getting a striker that is capable of scoring over 30-goals a season, and although Liverpool would love to sign him, he would probably get more game time at Manchester United.

So it will be interesting to see just who he would choose if they both came calling during the summer transfer window.
