Manchester United Football Club have a decision to make. Odion Ighalo has been great since making the move to Old Trafford, however, doubts remain about whether he’s a viable long-term solution.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been excellent in the transfer market. He’s made five signings, all of whom have had a positive impact on the squad over the last twelve months. With that in mind, we have to continue putting our trust in the Norweigian.
Anyway today, we’re again linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers’ forward Raul Jimenez, hinting that the Reds may well move away from Ighalo.
The story comes from Tuttosport, who write that United are amongst the clubs ‘monitoring’ the 29-year-old striker, who Wolves value at £57m.
However, the Reds won’t have it all their own way, with Arsenal and Real Madrid also monitoring the Mexican who has been brilliant since moving to the Premier League.
Jimenez is Premier League proven and would offer a different dimension to the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford. He’s someone who could slot in and become that rotational option, while possessing the capabilities and talents to take over as the main striker if needs be.
He’d be a brilliant addition to this United squad, make no mistake about that. However, I have doubts about whether Wolves would sell to another Premier League club – particularly if overseas sides are genuine with their interest.
