Manchester United legend Paul Ince has urged the club to sign Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid.
The transfer window is still a few months away and there is still alot of football to be played before players can be signed, but that has not stopped speculation in the media linking the Red Devils with a number of possible signings.
And one man that has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford, is that of Niguez, who is regarded as one of the finest midfielders in Europe right now and is valued at over £120 million.
Now, amid all the speculation, Ince has opened up and claimed that United should try and make a move to bring the Spanish star to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window: “What United fans want is exciting players and heroes in their team,” he told the Daily Star.
“There hasn’t been enough of those in recent years at United.
“You look at Manchester City. They’ve got Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva – at least three legends.
“It’s the same now with Liverpool. United don’t have that at the moment.
“I’ve watched Niguez for the last two or three years and I really like him.
“He’s got a lovely build and can score some special goals.
“There’s a culture about him and he’s still young with plenty of potential.”
Niguez is just the type of player that United need to bolster their world class numbers, he is brilliant on and off the field. But considering the coronavirus is hitting clubs hard, it could be a massive shock to see the Red Devils pay such an amount for this man and then improve other areas of the pitch.
But saying that, Niguez would be a special signing that would bring something United have been missing, some superstar quality in midfield.
