Manchester United are allegedly interested in snapping up Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans in the summer transfer window.
The 20-time English champions are expected to swoop for a new player in the middle of the park ahead of the 2022-23 season, with West Ham United talisman Declan Rice said to be a leading target for the Red Devils.
However, the former Chelsea academy player is valued by the Irons in excess of £100 million, and according to a report from the Daily Star, Youri is seen as a cheaper alternative to the England international.
The 24-year-old star has again been in brilliant form for the Foxes during the 2021-22 term, but the player has entered the final 18 months of his existing deal at the King Power Stadium outfit and could push for a transfer away from the club during this summer’s transfer market.
The report adds that Manchester United believe that a proposal in the region of £40 million would be accepted by Brendan Rodgers’ side due to the ex-Monaco youngster’s contract situation.
Tielemans, who has also been mentioned with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, has netted 23 goals and registered 22 assists in 134 outings for his team since arriving from Les Monegasques.
