Manchester United allegedly sent scouts to watch France midfielder Adrien Rabiot during his country’s European Championship defeat on Monday.
His nation crashed out of the Euro 2020 following a 5-4 penalty shootout defeat by Vladimir Petkovic’s Switzerland in the last 16.
Adrien, who found himself operating in a new position for Didier Deschamps’ side, won’t only be disappointed with the result but also his showing amid the summer transfer window.
Having been tasked to play at left wing-back in a 3-4-1-2 system, Rabiot was under the watchful eye of a Red Devils scout and failed to prove his worth during France’s shock exit.
According to The Daily Star, United sent a scout to the match in Bucharest to watch the midfielder’s performance and report back to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Red Devils are still said to be keen on the 26-year-old after he impressed at Juventus last term.
Rabiot joined I Bianconeri on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain two years ago and failed to nail down a regular senior team spot in his opening season.
As a result, Adrien had been linked with an exit from the Allianz Stadium in an attempt to revive his career.
However, having overcome his underwhelming first stint in Turin, Rabiot has now caught the attention of multiple Premier League giants due to his stunning form.
United are understood to be leading the transfer race for the Frenchman as they look to acquire his services for the 2021-2022 term.
