Manchester United have allegedly received a massive boost in their pursuit of Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman after he turned down the UCL champions’ offer of a new contract.

The France international has been tipped to finalise a move to Old Trafford if the 20-times English champions well-documented pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s  winger Jadon Sancho fails to bear fruit.

France international forward is under contract at the Allianz Arena until the end of the 2022-23 season, however, the Bavarian’s attempts to tie him down to a new-and-improved offer have reportedly hit a stumbling block.

Indeed, German outlet Kicker reports that Bayern tabled an improvement on his current £140k-a-week contract to run until 2026, however, Coman turned it down as he is seeking a much higher wage.

The Red Devils would have no problem forking out the 24-year-old’s desired salary should he decide to depart from Bayern, with a recent report suggesting that the Red Devils are willing to almost double his wages to £260k per week at Old Trafford.

Coman has found back of the net six times and set up 13 more in the 2020-21 season across all competitions, including three strikes and 10 assists from 19 Bundesliga games.
