Manchester United have pinpointed Juventus winger Federico Bernardeschi as a possible transfer target if their move for the England international Jadon Sancho is unsuccessful.

Jadon is sitting at the top of United’s wanted list in the next transfer market, but a deal is far from guaranteed, with Manchester City and Real Madrid also keen and Borussia Dortmund keen to keep hold of the forward.

The 20-year-old ace would also cost a huge amount of money, with Die Borussen likely to be asking for close to £100 million even with the economic uncertainty of the coronavirus crisis.

With this in mind, the Red Devils are looking at other options and Federico is a possible Plan B for the Red Devils, according to Italian outlet TuttoSport.

Reports suggest that United have made a contact over the price of the Italy international, who Juventus are not planning to sell, but could be coaxed into letting the player go for around £32m.

At that price, the 26-year-old star would represent a vastly cheaper option than Jadon, partly due to his age and with his contract expiring in Turin in June 2022.

Bernardeschi joined Juventus from La Viola in 2017 for around £35m and has gone on to make 94 appearances across all competitions, scoring nine goals.

He has started just nine Serie A matches this season and not any since December and is not considered an important figure under current Juve boss Maurizio Sarri. In comparison to Federico’s goal return, Sancho has scored 34 times in 95 games for his side since his 2017 debut.

Chelsea had also been linked with a move for the player, but the Blues have turned their attentions elsewhere, snapping up Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and also moving to land Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.
