Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on Manchester United stopper Dean Henderson as a perfect replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Henderson has enjoyed a stellar 2019/20 season while being on loan at Sheffield United and recently helped the Blades to secure a victory in a 3-0 match over Franck Lampard’s side at Bramall Lane – recording his 13th clean sheet this campaign.
The 23-year-old stopper is primed to battle David de Gea for the No.1 spot at Old Trafford ahead of his anticipated return to the Red Devils this summer, however, Henderson’s future with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side stays shrouded in uncertainty prior to next term.
According to The Express, Frank Lampard is hoping to secure the services of Dean Henderson to Stamford Bridge either on loan or on a permanent deal after losing faith in Kepa Arrizabalaga.
However, the report suggests that the Red Devils would be unlikely to sanction a sale to a Premier League rival – with the 20-times Champions and Chelsea currently battling it out for a top-four finish in order to secure place in the next season’s Champions League.
Henderson still has two years left on his current deal at Old Trafford and the Red Devils are believed to demanding around £50m for his head.
