A number of top players were targeted by Manchester United in the summer transfer window but the Red Devils failed to lure them. One of them was Jack Grealish.
The 25-year-old star had a fantastic campaign for Aston Villa under the management of Dean Smith and it will be fair to say that without him, the Birmingham based club would have gone down to the Championship.
Grealish was not only the top scorer, he also provided the highest number of assists to save his side from relegation.
He was heavily linked with a move to Man Utd in the summer but in the end, the attacker signed a new deal with his boyhood club that makes him earn £140,000-a-week (The Athletic).
Liverpool legend Steve Nicol believes that the former Irish player is made for Manchester United. The pundit thinks that the Villa captain is worth around £60m-65m, he heavily praised the attacker and claimed ESPN:
“I think absolutely United are crying out for a Grealish, a guy who keeps it, who will do his bit defensively, we talk about with Pogba, United not being able to defend – Grealish does everything.”
“He goes forward and he goes backwards and he has class and control. I think Grealish is made for Manchester United.”
This season, the attacker has featured in 10 games for Villa and directly contributed (Transfermarkt) in no fewer than 12 goals (6 goals and 6 assists). Back in September, he made his senior international debut for England and so far, he has provided 2 assists in 5 appearances under Gareth Southgate.
His current contract with Aston Villa will expire in 2025, so, he is not going to come for cheap. In your view, should Man Utd splash the cash to finally sign Jack Grealish?
