Monaco have allegedly told Manchester United that they’ll have to offer £40 million to stand a chance of landing Benoit Badiashile during this summer’s transfer market.

The Red Devils are likely to move for a new centre-half in the upcoming transfer market, with Eric Bailly and Phil Jones potentially leaving Old Trafford in search of pastures new.

Benoit has been strongly linked with a move to the Theatre of Dreams over the last year or so, and according to a British newspaper The Sun, the club had a £22 million bid rejected for the player in 2020.

The report adds that Ralf Rangnick’s side are still keen on the Frenchman but will have to offer at least £40 million to enter into contract talks with him.

The 20-year-old Badiashile has again been in strong form for Les Monegasques during the 2021-22 campaign, featuring 20 times in all competitions, notching one assist in the process.

Newcastle United and West Ham United are also both said to be interested in the left-sided central defender, who has been struggling to recover from a hamstring issue in the latest weeks.

Benoit – capped on nine occasions by his country’s Under-21s – has a deal with his Ligue 1 side until June 2024.
